(:…Revolution Indian Cinema…:)

It is truly an inspiration and a magnificent piece of work. Cinema has undergone a drastic change in present times. The rosy picture in the past Indian cinema has turned to be a much realistic one. It has branched itself into different roots unlike the past. Today, when we talk in terms of cinema we come across various negative and positive aspects that have electrifying effect on the masses. Leaving a thirst of more in many minds. Today cinema can be looked upon as an educative and purposeful mean of spreading Indian values and making people aware of their citizenship. Indian celluloid may be categorized as having the same ingredients of action, climax, and an unhappy melancholy ending, to spice it up some romance in between makes a movie dish complete. But cinema today has grown to such an extent that its roots are deep enough to waken generations to come.

Today Indian movies does not epitomize the same old filmy dialogues and the love séances or the blooded men fighting in order to capture the viewers mind but I would say it has a total different strand that distinguishes it from the past. At first our directors depicted our Indian movies in an Indian traditional way and 80% of our Indian movies had a common trend of the two sexes getting attracted to each other and some others had their film end with the death of the heroes. Directors focused much more on India and failed to look at the broader mentality of the western celluloid.

AS we transit from the past to the present there is a huge generation gap but I must admit, today’s young minds have taken Indian cinema to its pinnacle. Today Indian cinema epitomizes our modern motherland and its creative talent. The credit of such remarkable progress goes to the determination, dedication and devotion of our young directors who wanted to broaden, sharpen and give Indian cinema a new touch. Indian cinema can be perceived as an instrument to shape society into a vibrant constructive force where values along with its culture can be preserved. Movies of today are not just centered on myths, beliefs and superstitions but it has an incandescent spirit that lies beneath the remarkable feat.

Bollywood has given birth to films that portray values like patriotism, unity, justice, non-violence and as citizens makes us aware of our self personality, rights and duties.

From the trends of Sholay‘s Basanti to the present Rang De Basanti our films have definitely made us ponder on the thought of modern India. It has brought to our realization that cinemas may not just be looked upon means of personal pleasure but also means to spread educational awareness among its citizens.

Films like Rang De Basanti, Mangal Pandey –the uprising, Matrubhoomi, Iqbal, Black and many others have left us speechless .Such films directors embellish and enrich the quality of life. They are a gift to humanity to inspire the youth. The aspect of hero worship by the movie lovers is churlish.

Films by the values they portray definitely make an impression on young minds which immediately gets the desire to emulate. It is not often in this country we produce Shah Rukh Khans` or Karen Johars` but even if one surfaces in a decade I is enough to channelise the energy and enthusiasm of the youngsters into constructive positive values that will guide the future of Indian cinema toward the right path. Cinema which depicted values of violence of jealously, perversity, puppy love, infatuation among the two sexes made prominent the text of the popular book ‘Men from Mars and Women from Venus’. But today it has turned on a new leaf. It has being given a broaden new identity and an important place in the scheme of things. The theme to be highlighted is the fact that mere skill of our Indian films directors is not enough to carry a film to the top pedestrial on the world stage. It has to be nurtured and sharpened with the western and Indian mentality to attain that ‘X’ factor, to sustain at the international box office and be a witness at the various film festivals such as ‘The Cannes’

Cinema today takes us on a flight of fancy, away from our humdrum life to a place or country we want to visit through its melody, locations and electrifying effects it has on our sensitive minds. When we sit in the theatre on our seats nibbling into the caramel popcorn and sipping to our chilled beverages a whole new world of creativity broadens our horizons.

Cinema is just a variety of young Indian talent yet to come of our vibrant generation yet to unspool its imaginative side of a new brand of story tellers with a difference. Its effects ultimately lies on us whether to be tasted to be swollen or to be chewed and digested So go ahead and experience the revolution of change.
